Lawyers & Banking!

I´m really struggling with this, and I’ve told Carlos that this is pretty much on him. I want to focus on moving the business forwards. This whole sector I won’t be any help with. So leave me out of it as much as possible.

But Carlos had two meetings with two law firms in Madrid the day after I got back to Spain; unfortunately I was delayed driving up from Malaga and missed them. But Carlos was saying that these guys definitely know what they’re talking about. As apparently they get requests from the mob, drug dealers, and all sorts of dodgy people looking to try and legitamize stuff via banking structures etc.

And whilst we’re not nearly that dodgy, and our motivations are all honest. The same experience / skill sets are what we’re looking for!

I believe Carlos is signing something with one of these firms this week. And they’ll then properly investigate our structures, and business needs and then we’ll work on a step by step plan to further and further legitamize the business up until the point we can finally get it regulated and 100% compliant.

However! That process is not going to happen overnight. We will need to do an awful lot; and it’ll involve a lot of adjustments to the site (eg. collecting personal info, to “know our customers” … to actively monitor suspected money laundering etc etc. And possibly a whole bunch of tax related things also)
… The details I don’t have a clue about right now. But those will be given to us along the way; step by step. One thing at a time! (And no doubt, a lot of things will get ‘added to the programming queue’ along with everything else — so I'm really expecting this to take months, if not a year or more before we can really say “we’re good” )

One of the initial things we’re doing, is setting up a company, I think in the UK (which is offshore for Carlos) … And via this company we’ll be getting a financial services license.

And I don’t know the details, but having such a thing (which will cost in the region of 200k euros) will be a golden ticket in terms of opening bank accounts, dealing with banks, and basically being able to move huge volumes of money around without being interrogated every 5minutes.

Anyway… so the details I'm a bit lost with to be honest. But this is in motion.

I’m asking Carlos to cut me out of the loop a little bit with the “day to day drama” … but to keep me updated with a weekly update in bullet point form; just to state what they’re working on, and whether the ETA for each thing is “days”, “weeks” or “months”. And I’ll forward all that via the daily news.

Meanwhile…
I am focusing on moving the business forwards. That initially is getting the Polish office setup, and pushing those guys to get busy hiring! Thereafter, to keep pushing slosumo to do the same thing in Slovenia.

This will get us a full on, dedicated workforce, of programmers, designers, and support staff, with a manager for each office. Coupled with a few remote workers (Alex & David). And that’ll be our core staffing… which we can supplement with freelancers to work on little plug-in projects.

From that base we’ll be able to finish building the MTV business model (getting the programming queue on-site, getting users submitting their proposals / ideas & owning a subsequent stake in the portfolio products they have us build). And then we’ll be able to scale this business to infinity.

Initially, additional products, subsidiary businesses are not the main priority. Those will come thick & fast after the platform is 100% built. I understand that they’re fundamental to the sustainability of MTV. But we have to get the foundations in first. Then we’ll worry about revenues.

* And initially we have the power of debt swaps to stair-step the growth of this business, and accumulate the financing required to “get it started”.

But looking at our results the last week or so. It’s nice to see that even with zero reason to invest right now (ie. No ponzi elements / contributions). Our few initial products and what not, are still generating $5-$10k+ in revenues daily. That’s a great sign of things to come!

As it shows in our initial years to date (via the accumulation of a few million in debt, that’s been converted to “value” (shares). We now have a business capable of turning over $1.8-$3m per year even when turning off the plans.
That is the ultimate justification of what we’re doing. These shares are not “nothing”. They have a value! MTV has a value… And once we put the remaining sections of the platform in place. It’ll have enormous value! Then it’s just a matter of taking a shotgun approach, to building/buying every business, game and idea in the book! Unlimited crowd funding, sourcing unlimited products.

That’s when we get the opportunity to become a billion/trillion dollar business / portfolio. It’s a little way off yet, but the roadmap / potential is most definitely there.
